On Friday, January 8, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger released his proposed annual budget. The budget includes good news and bad news for state public education–the Governor is proposing no mid-year cuts to local school budgets for this school year, but is proposing $2.4 billion in cuts to education in 2010-11.
