Give a Hoot

Our Give a Hoot programs are service learning projects for students to learn ways to give back to the community. Events have included book drives, food collections, and various donations to local charities.

There are three projects for the 2009/2010 school year.  

Holiday Bear Drive Update:  This was a combined Patterson/Patton class activity.  We collected 189 stuffed animals that stayed in the North Coastal area of Children’s satellite centers in Solana Beach and Oceanside.  Thank you to everyone who donated a stuffed animal.

 January 24th "Clean the Beach" at 2:00 at Ponto Beach Update: We had over 80 participants come between 2pm and 4pm and scour the beach for debris.  We collected nearly 100 lbs of debris. And, as most of you know, the typical piece of trash found on the beach was pretty small in size – making the amount we collected all the more remarkable.

We will finish the year with our second Spring Food Drive.
